Mariachi and Guitar

  • Mariachi ensembles will enter the UIL West Mariachi contest in El Paso at Eastwood HS, February 1, 2025.
  • Entry Fee - $350     
  • Mariachi ensembles shall consist of a minimum of 11 and a maximum of 24 vocalists and instrumentalists with no more than two performers per part and shall perform in the following categories (event code in parentheses):​
    • Traditional mariachi conforms to traditional mariachi  instrumentation and part distribution (900).  All groups must enter as a traditional mariachi to compete.
    • Directors should enter in Region 22 and create a profile on Texasmusicforms.com in Region 22.
  • Guitar solos and ensembles will enter the 6A String/Guitar/Harp S&E in Odessa, February 1, 2025.
